Report Date:

Abstract:
Factors of stress concentration were determined, experimentally and analytically, for isotropic finite strips containing a hole under in plane bending. The hole-diameter to strip-width ratio DW is between 116 and 78. Photoelasticity was used as the experimental method and the NASTRAN finite element as the analytical approach. The results extend Frocht and Levens information, which was limited to DWor3. Author
