Abstract:
The development of slimy films on solid surfaces exposed to sea water has long been thought to be caused in part by micro-organisms. The objectives of the present work were to relate, the chemical, physical and structural properties of cell surfaces of bacteria to their propensity for attachment to solid surfaces.
