A method of obtaining derivatives of S-triazines as found in 2-R-chloro-triazin-2-ylaminobutyronitrile where R is the alkylamino-, dialkylamino-, or the 2-2-nitrilopropylamino group is distinguished by the fact that cyanuric chloride is subjected to the action of aminoisobutyric acid. Then the obtained 2,4-dichloro-6-alpha-cyano-alpha-dimethylamino-S-triazine is treated with the corresponding amine in the medium of an organic solvent with separation of the target product by conventional means. The process is carried out at 50-60C.
