Abstract:
To obtain and preserve valuable untranslated records of the large fires resulting from air attacks in World War II, Defense Civil Preparedness Agency formerly the Office of Civil Defense sent personnel to Germany in 1965. They found, and obtained permission to publish, a number of documents and photographs, particularly of the mass fire in Hamburg, Germany. These documents have been translated and analyzed and a number of reports concerning them have been published. The present report contains the remaining translations and pictures considered worth preserving for those studying the effects of large fires.
