Title:
The Variabilities of Wind and Temperature Structures in the Lower Troposphere as Revealed by an Infra-Sonic Wave Probe
Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
Wind variations in the atmospheric boundary layer are studied by means of an acoustic propagation experiment. The source was a quarter wave resonant tube operating at about 13.5 cps. The receiver was located 9.2 km to the South East. From the periodicity of the fluctuations, and the magnitude of the amplitude and phase variations one can infer the magnitude and scale of the atmospheric turbulence.
