Corporate Author:
FOREIGN TECHNOLOGY DIV WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OHIO
Report Date:

Abstract:
On the basis of performed investigations and an analysis of the published data, the following areas of application of gas bearings are recommended circular bearings can be used in small heat-stressed machines with a reserve of compressed gas and peripheral speeds on the bearing journal of not more than 80 msec bearings with differential pressurization and multi-centric bearings can be used in low-power heat-stabilized machines with decreased pressurization pressures and peripheral speeds on the bearing journal of not more than 90 msec bearings with self-adjusting bushings can be used in medium- and high-power heat-stressed machines at peripheral speeds on the bearing journal up to 80 msec.
