Title:
TRIN: Computer Program to Calculate Temperature Distributions in Circular and Rectangular Sections Exposed to Thermal Radiation from Nuclear Weapon Explosions
Corporate Author:

Report Date:
1972-05-12
Abstract:
A Computer program TRIN has been developed to calculate temperature distributions, in two or three dimensions, in bodies of rectangular or circular cross section exposed to transient thermal radiation heating from a nuclear weapon detonation. The cross section may be solid or hollow, the body may rotate or be stationary and the thermophysical properties can be arbitrary functions of local temperature. Capability of calculating distributions in three dimensions has been included to account for effects of heat sinks at the boundaries of the element. Solution of the heat conduction equation is accomplished by TRUMP, a well documented and verified computer program which is appended to TRIN as a subroutine.
