Abstract:
Estimates are made of the electron-induced radiation from N, N and O in the visible spectral region. The rate of electron cooling by excitation of both the higher-lying optical states and the lower-lying UV states is also estimated. The results are applicable to regions that are optically thin so that resonance trapping effects are not significant.
