Abstract:

Measurements were made of the average and fluctuating components of the horizontal longitudinal velocity component at depths of 9 and 17 meters and of the average and fluctuating components of the temperature at a depth of 17 meters. The measurements were made using ducted-impeller current meters and a quartz crystal thermometer probe mounted on a spar buoy which was tethered to the stern of the RV GILLIS. Author
