Title:

Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
In a former paper the concept of a completely ordered ringoid was developed and it was shown that numerical computations are usually done in such a space. In the paper it is shown that these spaces also occur in other parts of Applied Mathematics which are of numerical but also of nonnumerical interest. It is a further intention of the present paper to prove that all fundamental and important formulas of interval arithmetic can already be derived over completely ordered ringoids and that the spaces which usually occur in interval computations over the real numbers as well as over the machine numbers can also be described as completely ordered ringoids.
