Title:
Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Polyethylene Oxide,

Abstract:
Measurements were made on polyethylene oxide using a torsional braid analyzer at 0.1 Hz from room temperature to above the melting point. The relative rigidity is in general agreement with literature values of the shear modulus measured with a torsional pendulum. The mechanical damping index is higher in the melt than in the solid due to viscous damping, but there is no evidence of a peak at the melting point, as was reported when using a torsional pendulum.
