Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
The documents deals with the applicability of vitreous lubricants in hot extrusion. The optimal viscosity of the glass lubricants used is 100-300 poises and the optimal quality of the extruded products is assured when the thickness of the layer of lubricants of this kind is 20 Mu. Such conditions assure fluid friction during hot extrusion in the presence of vitreous lubricants. In this connection, it is shown that the antifriction properties of vitreous lubricants used in hot extrusion of metals can be expressed by introducing the concept of the technologicity index. Author
