Corporate Author:
SYRACUSE UNIV N Y
Report Date:

Abstract:
The document is a summary of the research performed which includes the following 1 Investigations of radiation and energy in classical general relativity. General invariant expressions for these quantities are discussed for spaces that become asymptotically flat sufficiently rapidly 2 Quantization of the Yang-Mills field. Rigorous quantizations in specific gauges are described as well as the general difficulties of quantizing non-linear gauge type theories 3 Spinor techniques in relativity. The initial value problem on null surfaces for linearized gravitational theory and other Lorentz covariant theories are described 4 Extended electron models in classical electromagnetic theory. Possible directions for future research in these four fields are briefly mentioned. Author
