Abstract:
The report presents a summary of responses, in tabular form, to all questions asked of 1,915 respondents located throughout Michigan in assessment of the Office of Civil Defenses Home Fallout Protection Survey HFPS. The data were gathered at four separate time periods--immediately before HFPS October, 1967, and one week, one month, and four months after the survey began. The tables are organized into the following main headings general reactions to the survey evaluation of survey desirability, reactions to survey booklets salience of public affairs problems and new topics during the survey civil defense attitudes civil defense information and plans communication behavior with respect to civil defense general communication behavior and basic demographic and control variables e.g., sex, age, income, employment, etc.. Each table in the report presents the total percentage of responses to a question, and breaks down these percentages by sex of respondent, and their geographical location in the state. Author
