Abstract:

A refined computation of the Stark constants was made. The limits of the measurement of the concentration of charged particles along different, experimental contours were obtained for a number of spectral lines of the atoms of cesium. A calculation was made of the charged particles and neutral atoms in the plasma of a DC arc. The results of the simultaneous measurement of the concentration of charged particles and neutral atoms of cesium in the plasma of the DC arc are presented. The concentration of charged particles measured in such a way relates to zones of discharge close to the center, where basically the widening of the lines occurs. The error in the measurement of the concentration of the neutral atoms is approx. 50. In this way all the methods used for determining the concentration of the charged particles in the DC arc give results that agree. Author
