Abstract:
In June and July 1961, twelve Sand Martin nests located in cliffs of Dzhydy River shores in Dzhydin aimak of Buryat ASSR were examined. About 250 ticks of the A. reflexus Latr. group were collected. A. reflexus ticks and fleas complete their developmental cycle in these nests, and all metamorphic stages from egg to adult were found. A. reflexus ticks are vectors of the agents of bird spirochetosis and Q fever, and discovery of this tick in Buryat ASSR. has definite epidemiological and epizootological importance. Author
