Abstract:

It was demonstrated that reproducibility of accelerated aging results can be attained by using diffusion screens at the inlet panel in conjunction with a rotating specimen rack. It is believed that, since removal of the existing inlet panel is unnecessary, all makes of forced-convection ovens using wall-to-wall air flow can easily be converted to diffusion ovens. The cost of this conversion is minimal because the diffusion principle is simple. Best of all, the oven capacity remains essentially unchanged, and the oven still can be loaded and unloaded quickly and easily. Author
