Title:
HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE INSULATION IN COMMUNICATION CABLES,
Corporate Author:
PLASTIC WIRE AND CABLE CORP JEWETT CITY CONN
Report Date:
1960-12-01
Abstract:
The acceptance and use of a material depends upon its cost and the ease with which it may be processed as well as upon its performance. Even with the present cost of High Density a little higher than that of High Molecular Weight Polyethylenes, it is likely that in Communication Cables as primary insulation, and to some extent in special jacket applications, the High Density Polyethylene may find increasing application due to its extra mechanical safety factors. However, if increased availability should result in little or no cost differential it is possible that the High Density Polyethylene may become the most generally used in these applications. Author
