Title:
RELATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES TO THE STRUCTURE OF IONIC SOLIDS.
Corporate Author:
PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIV UNIVERSITY PARK MATERIALS RESEARCH LAB
Report Date:
1966-09-14
Abstract:
The primary objective of this project is to strive towards the goal of an ideal ductile ceramic i by carrying out investigations on the various mechanical properties of different mica species ii by determining the crystal structure of some of these selected micas and correlating the results with their mechanical properties and iii by tailor-making suitable materials from a knowledge of the mechanism responsible for the unique mechanical properties of mica. An extensive bibliography on the various physical properties of mica and its synthesis and crystal growth is included. Author
