Abstract:
In previous works dealing with the problem of the optimal programming of thrust for various aircraft the aircraft is regarded as a point of variable mass, i.e., it is considered only as the motion of the center of mass. The present work deals with the problem of the optimum programming of power plant thrust for the linear motion of a variable mass body in a resisting medium. It is assumed that the body is in oscillatory motion around the center of mass under the effect of aerodynamic moments. Using the results of certain works cited in the bibliography all necessary conditions are derived and the uniqueness of optimal thrust is proven. Author
