The purpose of the paper is to do the following 1 Describe some of the complexities and limitations of missile component reliability determinations. 2 Emphasize the fact that each type of component has many reliability values simultaneously. 3 Show the relation between safety margins and reliability. 4 Define ultimate reliability. 5 Propose practical procedures for determining numerical values for reliabilities of missile components.
