Abstract:
The conditions of evaporation and the resulting chemical composition have been studied for films of mercury telluride and cadmium telluride. Chemical analysis of the starting materials and the films revealed that the composition of the starting materials was not uniform and that there was little control over the composition of the resulting films. X-ray diffraction studies of evaporated alloy films deposited on glass substrates showed that these films were highly disordered. Author
