Abstract:

A mathematical treatment is presented of spherical blast waves in a radiating gaseous medium. Radiation as well as gas is considered to contribute to the energy and momentum transfer and their interaction is taken into account on the basis of the form of the energy-stress tensor which is exact as long as the squares and higher powers of a ratio of the velocity of gas to that of light can be ignored.
