Corporate Author:

Report Date:
1964-06-01
Abstract:
Approximately 480 pounds of high quality 2, 6, and 12-mil B-66, Cb-752, D-43 and T-111 alloy strip were produced and extensively evaluated. Recommendations for processing and quality assurance procedures for the production of high quality refractory metal foil were prepared. Particular consideration was given to annealing, handling practices, and economics. Materials specifications for reroll stock and finished foil were prepared. Rollability studies of program alloys were conducted on an instrumented laboratory rolling mill. Flatness correction for 6-mil foil through the use of the rollerstretching principle was demonstrated. Work hardening and recyrstallization characteristics of the foil materials were determined. A special study of the B-66 cracking problem was conducted. Author
