Abstract:

In recent years, in science and technology, rapic development has been achieved in quantum electronics, one of the newer branches of physics. The large scale achievements in this field have resulted in the creation of its own special type of technological miracle quantum mechanical generators of electro-magnetic oscillations of light bands-- the lasers. A popularized description of this phenomenon is presented.
