Abstract:
The electrical conductance, density, and surface tension of the alkali metal carbonate systems Li2CO3 53.3 mole Na2CO3 46.7 mole Li2CO3 42.7 mole - K2CO3 57.3 mole Na2CO3 58 mole - K2CO3 42 mole and Li2CO3 43.5 mole - Na2CO3 31.5 mole - K2CO3 25.0 mole are reported for the temperature range 500C to 900C. Density and surface tension properties are approximately additive for these systems. The experimental conductances of the binary systems are found to obey Markovs empirical equation.
