From an analysis of the buckling of conical shells under external pressure, torsion, and axial compression, numerical values are obtained of the critical torsional loads of selected internally pressurized conical shells. These values are compared with experimental results. No simple expression for the interaction curve between torsion and internal pressure was found for conical shells. Author
