Title:
A New Type Infrared Imaging System,
Corporate Author:
NAVAL ORDNANCE LAB WHITE OAK MD
Report Date:
1951-04-16
Abstract:
An infrared image system is proposed which uses photoconductors, such as PbTe, which have short time constants. This image system would be able to reveal objects due to their emitted infrared radiation in the atmospheric windows occurring from 3 to 5 microns. Design characteristics are discussed. Calculations indicate a maximum image definition of 5000 points per picture when existing PbTe cells are used as detectors.
