Abstract:
The specification of vehicle characteristics can and must include a wide range of factors associated with the terrain. It is not possible to establish which element of the terrain is of overriding importance or whether there is such a terrain element. However, the soil strength characteristics, the geometric profile, and the vegetation obstacles must be specified in quantitative terms.
