Title:
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A MODIFIED RAYLEIGH REFRACTOMETER FOR THE TWO-TO-12 MICRON INVESTIGATION OF VAPORS
Corporate Author:
NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL MONTEREY CA
Report Date:
1963-01-01
Abstract:
A multi-channel Rayleigh refractometer similar to the one constructed by Eaton and Thomas was proposed to investigate the optical dispersion of vapors in the two-to-12 micron region. The proposed system differed from the previous gas measurement system primarily in the methods of vapor admission and pressure- temperature control. Additional modifications included changes in monochromator and source assembly design, provision for two-directional scan of the infrared spectrum, and changes in the interferometer gasketing and end window design. This report covers the design and construction of such a system.
