Title:
INVERSE RESISTANCE-POWER EFFECT IN QUARTZ CRYSTAL UNITS.
Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
Past experience with quartz crystal units, operating on overtone modes, has shown instances where the equivalent resistance increases excessively at low drive levels. This problem arose with CR-55U and CR-56U crystal units used in Radio Set ANARC-54. An investigation of the cause of this resistance increase was undertaken and experiments tend to show that the difficulty is due to a lack of cleanliness of the resonator. Small quartz and foreign particles attached to active portions of the resonator by means of a sticky film appear to be the greatest cause of the resistance increase. Author
