Abstract:
For many program errors and program checkout problems, on-line techniques provide a promising method of attack. An approach developed in connection with time-sharing computer systems is examined. Then Program Trace, an on-line diagnostic program developed for the CDC 1604 computer, and a Data Display Model DD 65 display and control console are presented and examined in detail.
