Abstract:
The problem of the retention and the high turnover rate of young enlisted women in the United States Navy was investigated by reviewing literature about women in general, women in the labor force, and women in the Navy. A questionnaire was designed and conducted for first term enlistees at the United States Naval Training Center, San Diego, California. The purpose of this survey was to establish whether or not some factors were more important than others in affecting the decisions of women to remain or terminate their naval service. Author
