Corporate Author:
PICATINNY ARSENAL DOVER NJ AMMUNITION DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE
Report Date:
1965-02-01
Abstract:
Eithteen water-wet explosives were studied to determine whether they could support detonations. Of the 18 explosives tested, 15 sustained detonations when saturated with water. All explosives tested were found to sustain detonations at water levels that could be encountered in manufacturing operations following the filtering operation. Therefore, the filtered explosives should be assigned a safety hazard classification of Class 9.
