Title:
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FLYING: SOME ASPECTS OF RE-EVALUATION,
Corporate Author:
ARMED FORCES-NRC COMMITTEE ON VISION WASHINGTON DC
Report Date:
1964-06-01
Abstract:
The complexity and variability of todays flying tasks and the relative inflexibility of the present visual standard requirements produce a problem area in the selection and retention of personnel. Increased flexibility and refinement of the visual classification system are required. The feasibility and actual need for extensive validation of visual standards in terms of specific performance are questioned. Communication is inadequate and liaison poor between operational visual specialists with personnel problems and visual scientists with possible solutions. Author
