Corporate Author:

Report Date:
1963-09-01
Abstract:
A concept for a complete emergency life sustaining system for use during failure of the normal pressurization system in a spacecraft is advanced. The system includes four components 1 an astronauts uniform with a built in mechanical pressurization system, 2 a pressure-breathing demand-regulator, 3 an automatically actuated system of solid chemical oxygen candles, and 4 a one-man compression tube. This system has been partially fabricated and appears worthy of further development.
