Abstract:
A simplified model is formulated which accounts for the major features of the equation state of air in the regions where reliable calculations are available. This model furnishes a reasonable way of extending equation of state data to regions where calculations are not available it also provides a useful numerical routine for using equation of state data in hydrodynamic calculations. The following are some of the thermodynamic properties which are used to describe the state of air the density rho, the temperature T, the pressure p, the internal energy E, and the number of particles per cold air molecule N.
