DCV 102 was revised to replace the voltage regulator and engine starter solenoid with improved models and to make further changes to the standby generator control circuitry. Because the data obtained in the initial testing did not reflect performance of the finial test configuration, this report is based on the data obtained during the repetition of the test. Twenty-five commercial power failure tests were performed. The standby generator started and picked up the LF load each time a commercial power failure was simulated. After commercial power was restored and timer K43 had completed its cycle, the LF transferred back to commercial power. Twenty-five engine exercise tests were successfully performed. These were initiated by manually advancing automatic timer K44. During each of these tests, the standby generator voltage and frequency fluctuated widely for about 20 seconds after the generator started. A four day standby generator endurance run was made during which the LF was transferred to standby power for ninety-six hours. During this time it was noted that generator control panel vibrations contributed to voltage regulator instability. DCV 101 battery charger current and starter battery voltage were monitored during this test. The battery charger satisfactorily maintained the battery voltage at the proper level. Author
