Abstract:
The objective of specifying and deriving the elements of an equation for the analytical solution of waveguide window design problems has been met. By programming this equation and using dimension parameters as variables, a computer can be used to greatly speed up window design. Two types of windows have been programmed and successfully computed. The block ceramic window, using dual-symmetric, inductive iris broadbanding techniques, has been computed for several cases and the results have been shown to be almost exact when compared to measured data. The thin disc type of window, either single or double disc dielectric cooled, has also been programmed. Comparisons of computed and measured results also show a very close correlation, but it is not so exact as for the block window.
