Title:
THE MANUFACTURE OF SPUR GEARS BY ROLLING,
Corporate Author:
JOINT PUBLICATIONS RESEARCH SERVICE WASHINGTON D C
Report Date:
1963-05-20
Abstract:
This book briefly describes the experiments which were conducted on rolling gears and on the con struction of rolling mills. This book gives characteristics of deformation of metal and induction heating during rolling of gears. Comparison results are given on the quality of machined and rolled gears as well as calculations of the economic advantage of rolling gears. The technology for manufacture of gears by rolling at the fatherlands plants is described in detail as well as subsequent stages of proc essing and introduction of the technology of combined hot and cold rolling. This latter technique permits one to obtain accurate gears without machining of teeth. This book is designed for engineers, technologists and struc tural engineers who work in the field of produc tion of gears and pressure processing of metals. Author
