Abstract:
It is postulated that changing the chemical environment of unstable NF moieties may yield new energetic materials which have desirable properties. Known high-energy species are being used for the synthesis of NF compounds. Reactions involving the mixture of mercurials obtained from FNClCO2-iPr and Hg with acetyl chloride and with bromine yielded CH3CONFCO2-iPr and FNBrCO2-iPr, respectively. Attempts to prepare iPr-O2CNFNFCO2-iPr, and the cations N2F5 and CNF23 in the form of their SbF6- salts were unsuccessful. Author
