Abstract:
ESCRIPTORS Titanium alloys, High pressure research, Mechanical properties, Alumi um alloys, Vanadium alloys, Ti alloys, Copper alloys, Iron alloys, Transition temperature, Melting, Electric arcs. In order to develop titaniu alloys with .1 yield strength in the range 240,0 0 to 60,000 psi, a series of 15 eight-pound alloys are being prepared at two int rstitial level . Following t eir evaluation 4 fifty-pound alloys will be prepared and tested both as sheet and bar stock. W LDABILI Y STUDIES WILL BE PERFORMED ON THE SHEET MATERIAL. Melting of the eight-pound ingots is in progress and beta transus temperatures have been determined for all the compositions o 25-g buttons. Author
