Abstract:
The fluidized bed coating process is sometimes referred to as powder painting or simply plastic cladding. Process details, advantages and deficiencies of the process as compared with conventional coating methods, as well as tricks of the trade, are covered. Masking, cold fixturing techniques, patching of the coatings, inspection techniques, machining, and special applications of the coatings are discussed. Use of the process in applying both plastic and metallic coatings reveals an envisioned future application of fluidized bed techniques. Author
