Identifies Decision making.A field experiment was conducted to increase in certain departmens of an industrial firm 1 group-oriented activity, 2 mutual inteaction and influence within work groups, 3 upervisory supportiveness in relation to subordinates, and amount of deision-making ctivity by subodinates. These changes were successfully introduced in three experimental deprtments in comparison with two control deprtments. The effects were to increase machine efficiency, and to increase employee satisfctions. Waste performance improved in both experimental and control departments. Asence rates rose overall, but les in the experimental than in the control departmens. UTHOR
