Title:
DEVELOPMENT OF ULTRA-THIN FILM PRESERVATIVE COMPOUNDS
Corporate Author:
SNELL (FOSTER D) INC NEW YORK
Report Date:
1962-01-31
Abstract:
Construction of the controlled cyclic condensation humidity cabinet was completed. Corrosion test specimens are exposed to alternating conditions of condensation and evaporation of moisture from the test surfaces. To effect condensation of water on test specimens, localized cooling of the environment near the test surfaces is accomplished by mounting specimens over a water jacket containing refrigeration tubing. By periodic on-off operation of the refrigeration system, a repeatable pattern of moisture condensation and evaporation is obtained. Raising the mean temperature and increasing the frequency of the cycle is intended to produce accelerated corrosion processes corresponding to those encountered during storage.
