Abstract:
Hydromagnetic flow in the vicinity of a two-dimensional stagnation point is considered, when the electrical conductivity is small and the applied magnetic field is at an arbitrary angle to the surface. First, inviscid flow is treated. Perturbation in the magnetic Reynolds number is singular the previously found logarithmic singularity in vorticity at the surface of an arbitrary body is symptomatic of this fact. Then viscous effects are included, and it becomes evident that similarity solutions by no means tell the whole story. The principal functions are tabulated. Author
