Abstract:
This theoretical study is divided into three major areas syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. These terms are used in the sense usually employed by what was once called logical positivism. Syntax, then, is concerned with a system of formal rules semantics adds content to the symbolism and pragmatics introduces the human element. The three parts were written independently and are published in the original version. The prologue and epilogue provide a brief statement of the authors current position.
