Abstract:
Analytical studies and experimental results are presented to show the gross effect of extreme uv radiation 1100 to 1850 angstroms on materials in ultrahigh vacuum. Experimental results on the irradiation of selected metals, plastics, and paints, indica ed that the effec s of 1100 to 1850 angstrom radi tion upon materials are small and are similar to effects caused by uv radiation of longer wavel gths. Only the high quantum yields for photo-emission are unique for the extreme ultraviolet range. Author
