Title:
DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS OF A PHOTOSENSOR FOR THE DETECTION OF LIGHT FLASHES
Corporate Author:
INSTRUMENT CORP OF FLORIDA MELBOURNE
Report Date:
1961-11-27
Abstract:
The theory and design of a photosensor to be used for the accurate timing of a missile or aircraft-borne stroboscopic light are presented. The precise determination of the flash times of the strobe is necessary for certain applications in geodesy and trajectory determination. Certain aspects of photometry and atmospheric phenomenon are reviewed to establish solid framework upon which to base the design. The properties of the strobe light and background radiation are discussed and a basic design is developed. Author
