Abstract:

The compensation theorem is extended to a vector form. The use of the vector fo m would enable one to obtain the expression for the incremental changes in the electric and magnetic vectors in space due to a given source, under the condition of changes in the electrical characteristics in a portion the medium surrounding the source. It is worthwhile to point out the need for deriving a vector form of the theorem. The present method nables one, in a first case, to formulate the boundary value problem in terms of Fredholms integral equation. There is therefore a possibility of obtaining approximate solutions of this equation by using iterative or other systematic schemes. Author
